The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is rich of energy resources where industries can excel globally. These industries include petrochemical energy, solar energy, and thermal energy. With the amount of oil in the Kingdom, it is no surprise that the country is one of the most producing countries of oil barrels daily. Coupled with oil production, petrochemical material processing and development has been another focus the Kingdom has proven to be a leader. Companies such as ARAMCO and SABIC have been producing and selling petrochemical materials for various applications. Another important resource in the Kingdom is the vast amount of solar irradiation. Due to environmental factors, the light of sun is constantly shining on the Kingdom’s land. This amount of solar energy can be used to power up almost all cities in the Kingdom. In fact, along with vision 2030 and the national transformation plan, the Kingdom is currently shifting its focus from oil-based energy resources to renewable energies, especially solar energy. The Kingdom is currently investing in solar panels to power up different domains However, proper solar energy capture designs and planning is required. Accordingly, our Technology Leaders Program works on complementary applied research in various types of renewable energies, including but not limited to, solar energy, petrochemical energy, chemical energy, and thermal energy. We focus on establishing a strong basic research foundation in different areas of energies in order to produce and develop high performance power generation and storage systems with low cost. Aligned with the national transformation plan, we also train and develop young leaders to critically think and produce proper scientific research with high impact related to renewable energies, coupled with top-tier collaboration with various leading academic institutions. Our main objective is to have self-motivated young leaders in the Kingdom to accelerate and create revolutionary chain reactions in the Kingdom’s industries. We approach this by constantly infusing the minds of our young generation with literature research, creating novel and innovative intellectual properties, publishing sound and accurate results in the top journals. We strive to have prosperous future for the Kingdom with well-developed leaders.
